Our Story
Don's Family Style Buffet is named in honor of Josh Spicer's grandfather, Donald Spicer, who opened Don's Cafe in Moberly, Missouri, back in 1989. Josh spent his weekends and summers working right alongside his grandfather, learning what it takes to run a restaurant: hard work, hospitality, and treating every guest like family.
After his grandfather sold the cafe in 1996, Josh went into construction, but the dream of running his own restaurant never left him. In October 2008, he found his chance: a building just down the road from the original Don's Cafe. On November 25, 2008, he opened Don's Family Style Buffet in Huntsville, naming it after the grandfather who taught him everything and carrying the family legacy forward.
Since then, Don's has grown right along with the community, adding seating over the years to welcome even more families through our doors. Our mission hasn't changed since day one: friendly service, delicious food made with fresh ingredients, and a family atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
